Effective October 22, 2026. This policy explains how Le Veganthrope ("we") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information on leveganthrope.com, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

What we collect and why
- Customer account: name, email address and password (encrypted), so you can order and follow your orders.
- Orders: delivery address, phone number, meals ordered, any special requests you enter, tip and amounts, to prepare, deliver or hand over your order, invoice it and meet our tax obligations.
- Payment: card payments are processed directly by Stripe; we never see or keep your card number. For a cheque, we only keep the payment confirmation.
- Contact form: your email address, your message and any files you attach, only to answer you.
- Newsletter: your email address, only if you sign up; you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Technical information: like any website, our server records your IP address, browser type and the pages viewed, to keep the site running and secure.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. You may choose not to provide it, but we will then be unable to process your order or request.
Cookies
The site only uses the cookies it needs to work: the shop's session cookie (PrestaShop-…), which keeps your cart, language and login. We use no analytics or advertising cookies. Stripe sets its own fraud-prevention cookies at the payment step.
Service providers and where information is kept
Each provider only receives what it needs. They are located outside Quebec, where the law offers different protection than in Quebec. Before any information is shared outside Quebec, we assess whether it will be adequately protected, and we choose providers that commit to protecting it.
- Web hosting: the shop, its data and our email are hosted by our hosting provider on servers outside Quebec.
- Stripe (United States): card payment processing.
- Mailchimp (United States): until October 2026, our customers' contact details and orders were synchronized with Mailchimp for the newsletter. That synchronization has been stopped.
How long we keep information
- Customer accounts: until you delete your account, or 3 years after your last order or login.
- Orders and invoices: 6 years after the end of the fiscal year, as tax laws require.
- Contact form messages and attachments: 3 years after our last exchange.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs: about 1 month.
When information is no longer needed, we destroy it or make it anonymous.
How we protect information
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and passwords are encrypted. Access to the shop's administration is limited to the people who need it. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the people concerned, and we record every incident in a register.
Your rights
You may ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, withdraw your consent, or receive it in a commonly used technological format. You can also update your information under "My account". Write to info@leveganthrope.com; we answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Changes
Any change will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
